The successful ‘New Trains Two’ PR Campaign covered communications activity surrounding the arrival of 20 new Class 4000 trains for Northern Ireland. The same campaign also scooped Gold at the CIPR NI PRide Awards last November.

Sanjay Mistry, a category judge for the PR Campaign award category, said: “A high quality entry from NI Railways, which clearly met the objectives, maximised the key milestones for media exposure and a successful campaign that generated a very good level of coverage.”

The Internal Communications award was received in recognition of the company’s ‘Go Eco’ campaign designed to encourage employees to become more energy efficient.

It included an eye-catching poster series featuring key company environmental facts and energy efficiency messages, staff briefings, intranet exposure and energy awareness workshops.

Speaking about their success, Lynda Shannon, Translink communications manager, said:
“This was a great opportunity to showcase rail travel in Northern Ireland at such a prestigious industry event. Both campaigns reflect the team’s effort, passion and dedication to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, successfully meeting our business objectives.

“To win against such high-profile industry leaders from across the UK shows that Translink NI Railways is a highly respected company within such a large transport industry,” said Lynda.
